In Russia, the popularity of children’s SIM cards from mobile operators and banks is growing. According to TelecomDaily, the share of such sales over the past year reached 14%.
79% of respondents preferred to buy a SIM card remotely: 48% would choose delivery by courier, and 31% would choose completely contactless collection. Only 21% consider it necessary to receive services in person at points of sale.
When it comes to remote connections, MTS is the leader; the company has concluded 31% of contracts.
The rating is as follows:
1. MTS: 31%
2. MegaFon: 27%
3. Tele2: 16%
4. Beeline: 14%
5. T-Mobile: 7%
Among remote registration methods, 65% of respondents prefer mobile application operators, and 31% prefer their official websites. In 2024, another option appeared – purchasing a SIM card from MTS through Telegram. The process takes about five minutes to complete.

The event, held by IAA TelecomDaily, was attended by 1,150 Russians who purchased a SIM card remotely in 2024. The question lies in the online survey method, the system for selecting respondents according to the ESOMAR International Standard in the field of Internet research number.
