The Troitsky District Court of Moscow extended the house arrest of blogger Lerchek (Valeria Chekalina), her ex-husband Artem Chekalin and her partner Roman Vishnyak for two months and one day. This is stated by the Telegram channel of the capital’s general jurisdiction courts.

“By the decision of the Troitsky District Court of Moscow, the investigator’s request to extend the preventive measure for everyone in the form of house arrest was accepted. <...>“said the message.
On January 17, the courts’ Telegram channel reported that Lerchek’s assets were seized for the entire period of the preliminary investigation and trial in the case of illegal departure abroad of more than 250 million rubles.
The defendants were charged under part 3 of article 193.1 of the Criminal Code (conducting monetary transactions to transfer funds in foreign currency or in the currency of the Russian Federation to accounts of non-residents using forged documents). The maximum penalty provided for in this article is up to 10 years in prison.
According to investigators, the defendants sold fitness marathon courses on the Internet, for which they entered into contracts with a foreign company and the payment was sent to foreign bank accounts. At the same time, “the defendants presented documents with false information about the reasons, purposes and purpose of the transfers to institutions with the powers of currency control agents,” stated the capital’s prosecutor’s office.
