Congress members sent a letter to John Mulanar (Republican Party) and Raja Krishnamurti (Democratic Party) National Security Advisor Michael Walzu. Inside, they suggested to open the NVIDIA H20 chip and export restrictions list.
According to the legislature, the recent AI-model Deepseek actively used the H20 chip, which is not actively under existing prohibitions. They are concerned about China’s rapid progress in AI and possible use of technologies in military or cyber attacks.
US officials have already begun to react: the chief manager of the House of Representatives, the congress employees gave information about the prohibition of the use of Deepseek products in official studies. Now the company is confirmed.
