The analysis of 630,000 voice speech from four countries showed that women aged 25-64 years pronounce an average of 21,845 words per day, and that 3000 words are more than men of the same age.
However, there is no difference in adolescence during adolescence (up to 25 years) and an elderly (older than 65 year).
According to Matthias Mely, who chaired the study, such a difference can be explained with the functions of playing role – women engage in raising children who require more communication.
In addition, scientists generally realized that people started to speak less: from 2005 to 2018, the average number of words determined decreased from 16,000 to 13,000 a day.
This may be due to the growth of digital communication that replaces live communication.
