According to Bloomberg Mark Gurman analyst, Apple is not the first time you think about the introduction of search advertising in the “cards.” In the summer of 2022, the observer also wrote about the discussions about the advance paid in Apple Maps.
According to Gurman, the company returns to this problem in the context of the desire to expand its presence in the field of digital advertising. Organizations are supposed to pay the promotion of their institutions, providing them with priority in search results, since it works on Google Maps.
Such monetization model is already bringing Apple profits in other services, such as news and actions, and the corporation evaluates the perspectives of its expansion in the maps.
It is reported that the issue of monetization of “cards” was raised in a recent workshop in Apple. In particular, the idea was discussed that some places on the map become “more notable.”
At the same time, nothing is known about the specific moment of the implementation of this idea. The development of the search results paid in Apple Maps “has not even begun.”
