This questions the common view of the red planet about the entirely liquid kernel of the planet.

Based on NASA Insight, it is known that the Mars kernel consisted mainly of melted iron by combining light elements such as sulfur.

However, scientists from Germany, France and Belgium performed laboratory experiments and synthesized the fe₄₊ₓs₃ iron sulfur, which could remain strict at high pressure and temperatures compared to Mars’s conditions.

The calculations indicate that the pressure reached 40 gigapasses at the center of Mars and the temperature is about 1970 Kelvin.

While cooling below 1960, Kelvin sulfur begins to crystallize, which forms a potentially solid inner core. New experiments and more seismic observation hypothesis will help clarify.
