The first state e-sports school was opened in Russia. It is located in Novosibirsk on the basis of the Olympic reserve school for shooting sports. It will teach how to play Dota 2 and League of Legends.

The first state esports school in Russia opened

The Novosibirsk Telegram Channel, the official government channel of the Novosibirsk region, was the first to announce the opening of the school.

The classrooms were equipped with modern personal computers with the necessary equipment for games, gamer chairs and computer accessories. Esports athletes are coached by certified esports coaches.

You can enter school after your 12th birthday. The selection is based on the results of the individual tests and the candidate must also show good results in the game. The first course of more than ten students has already been recruited.

Education at the school includes, among other things, fitness classes. In January, the government approved training standards for esports athletes, which include time trials, squats and body lifts.

By the end of 2022, the government plans to launch educational programs in the field of esports in some Russian universities. We are talking about both the introduction of courses for the development of additional skills and the training of game developers.
