The chip uses a modular structure similar to Ascend 910C and is completely produced in China, which reduces dependence on foreign technologies. This is particularly important because the United States limits Nvidia’s access to the local market and tightens the control of advanced chips on exports to China. Huawei also introduced Cloudmatrix 384 AI Supernode technology, which can be compared with NVIDIA solutions in information process.
Ascend 920 was tested and its launch is expected in the second half of 2025. The success of the chip can strengthen the Huawei position in the Chinese artificial intelligence industry dominated by Nvidia.
