Claude Code is an AI tool for automating programming competing with the Openai Codex CLI. Unlike Codex CLI, whose code is open under the Apache 2.0 license, which allowed free use, he defended the anthropic Claude code with a commercial license and concealed his code (focused).
When the developer opened the code and sent it to Github, he wanted to remove the ingredients that made an anthropic society anger. On the X platform, he called for anthropic actions that limit Openai for clarity: Codex CLI has already integrated the suggestions of developers, including support for anthropic models.
Claude Code in Beta version has performance problems and experts argue that the Anthropic can soften the license later, but so far the company has not commented about the situation.
