Yandex offered to make riding robots with full -fledged road users. According to the project they send to the Ministry of Economy, robots will receive registration numbers and QR codes in the housing and will be able to move at a speed that is not higher than 25 km per hour during the sidewalks and bicycle paths. The Ministry of Economy confirmed that the project was taken and said that the implementation of technology together with other departments would ensure the legal support and security.
The project is based on an experimental legal regime that allows you to test new technologies under real conditions. In Russia, unmanned trucks, trams and similar modes for Robotax are already operating in Russia. Supplier robots will not be full -fledged vehicles, but for them they will develop separate rules, taking into account the characteristics of automatic control systems. They will be able to move along the sidewalks and sidewalks, and the roads will pass through pedestrian signals. Each robot will be equipped with Lidar and lighting devices and the size and weight will be limited.
The project also foresees the rules in case of accidents. The company should immediately report to service 112 and send a representative to the scene. In order to damage health or property, compulsory insurance was introduced by compensation up to 500 thousand rubles. It is planned to start a project in 20 regions where infrastructure and communication are suitable for robots. At the same time, experts do not agree: some believe that it takes more time to examine the safety of the common movement of robots and pedestrians, and others say that in some cities, pavements are very narrow for such innovations.
