Development is based on the use of porous silicone nanonets covered with gold and silver nanoparticles. This design combines two optical methods: one analyzes the spectral data of the cell wall without the need to add special signs, while correcting the changes in the optical properties of the sensor in contact with bacteria. This provides high accuracy and analysis speed.

Scientists have tested sensors on bacteria that are not similar in the structure, similar to some dangerous microorganisms. Experiments have shown that devices quickly respond to the interaction of bacteria with antibiotics and allow you to consider their reactions in real time.

The main advantage of new sensors is the lack of need for long -term growing bacteria that significantly accelerate diagnosis compared to traditional methods.
