Recently, in some versions of AMD’s RX 9070 XT, it is known that SK Hynix has started to use the Samsung GDDR6 memory with its memory. In the new test, it turned out that Samsung memory cards worked about 2.6% slower than SK Hynix’s memory. This was noticed in the 3DMark speed path test.
The reason for the difference is that Samsung’s memory is more “weak” (less solid) timings. These data were confirmed by a special Clamchower cache criterion. AMD also admitted that a slight reduction in performance is expected. Although the difference is insignificant and almost invisible in games, potential buyers should have information about this nuance when choosing a RX 9070 XT model.
