As a part of a new study, experts, consumers used information from the online database created by OpenfoodFacts.org. In general, they analyzed a list of approximately 4600 protein bar. They then divided these bars into groups depending on the type of protein: plant protein (peas and rice), only animal protein (milk), a mixture of milk, eggs and soy protein, a mixture of milk, collagen and soy protein. After that, scientists missed the bars through digestive simulation called Infogest to find the amino acid composition of the products and the amount of absorbed protein.

According to the results of the experiment, scientists have reached two conclusions. First, most of the rods did not contain too much protein: 81% of the sticks received at least 20% of their calories from protein and did not receive 19%.

Second, some proteins were low in the rod. This indicator changed from 47% to 81%. In addition, some products with lower indicators contain animal protein or soy, ie high quality and full proteins.
