Secure trading platform Solar Staff will change pricing rules for freelancers, according to the service’s website. From December 1, a mandatory commission for the withdrawal of any amount will be introduced for performers.
When withdrawing funds to cards and accounts of foreign banks, the commission will be 2%, in the case of Russian banks and cards – 2.5%. If money is transferred to accounts of individual entrepreneurs in Russian banks or electronic wallets, the commission increases to 3.5%.
For clients, on the other hand, the commission is reduced. Yes today, depending on the jurisdiction and tax situation of the artist, the commission ranges between 3.5% and 9%. Starting December 1, access to the service will cost between 2 and 6% of billing.
The company justified the new pricing principles with the desire to increase growth rates, change positioning and create new products.
For example, Solar Staff announced the possibility of connecting purchases to replenish card balances. The service also announced a new Advanced API account. In addition, Solar Staff promises to launch consultations for freelancers on the tax system of the European Union countries and obtaining digital nomad visas.
“I’ll be honest, there is another reason: since we launched Solar Staff, the cost of the infrastructure we need to operate the service has increased significantly,” added Solar Staff founder and CEO Pavel Shinkarenko.
According to Solar Staff, in 2023 the income of Russian freelancers who receive payments in rubles increased by 63%.
