These measures are a response to the sharp criticism of Meta after researches and lawsuits. In 2023, *Instagram was accused of the fact that the platform encouraged the spread of pedophile networks.

The Wall Street Journal journalists found that social networks helped suspicious users find content with the participation of children.

Now *Instagram will hide suspicious adults’ interpretations of such publications and will complicate the search between these groups. *Meta emphasizes that most of these accounts are carried out for harmless purposes, but new restrictions are an important step to protect children.
