For the first time Facebook And Instagram they might have a real one customer service. Meta, the parent company of the two social networks, has announced that it is investing new resources in this area. “We’re investing some time in it,” explains Brent Harris, one of the company’s executives.

To date, users have no tools at their disposal to ask Meta for help. If a Facebook account is suspended for arbitrary or incomprehensible reasons, the user will not be able to talk to a real employee. At most you are invited to make a complaint, which, however, may remain in an indefinable limbo for several days. There are no tools to explain your problems and get a quick solution.

Maybe things will change. A year ago, Meta had shown the demo of a new customer support program on live chat. The demonstration showed a user who had lost access to their account and was talking to a Facebook assistant in real time and getting quick help. But it was actually a simple demo. There is still no such thing.

The Oversight Board, an independent board created precisely for the purpose of helping Meta solve the most delicate and complex problems, has repeatedly recommended the company improve customer support for its products: from Facebook and WhatsApp, passing to Horizon VR. .

It’s not clear at this point what the company’s plans are, but it looks like something is finally moving.
