The drone, called “Skufik ,, is equipped with an ultrasound defective detector and high resolution cameras. The device generates acoustic waves and analyzes its reflections from the surfaces and transmits data to the computer for processing. This approach allows the detection of unexpected damage during visual examination.

As developers explained, the drone can operate both along a certain path and automatically under the control of the operator. A feature of the system is the ability to record the flight path to repeat later controls.

At the current stage, a 3D prototype and software development creation was completed. The following steps are the assembly of a physical model that obtains a patent and performs field tests.

According to students, this is one of the first Russian projects that combine visual and structural control on a device.
