The security vulnerability was associated with the reviewed content tool designed to update the pages in the search. If you change the capital and lowercase letters at the page address, it turned out that Google is confused and believed that the page is not available. As a result, even if it was present, it was completely removed from the search.
Journalist Jack Polason said that his article on the arrest of Delawin Blackman technician’s technician disappeared from Google. Blackman tried to hide this information – he filed a lawsuit and sent a complaint. As a result, the articles disappeared from the search exactly because of this vulnerability.
Another journalist Ahmed Zidan noticed that his material was going about Pulson. After checking the Google search console, he found many strange requests to update the page where capital letters were changed in URL.
Google confirmed that the problem exists, but only affects a small number of pages. It is unclear whether all affected items are restored. Now the vulnerability is closed.
