According to scientists, the salt content of the region’s hybrid reservoirs exceeds 177 g/liters, while the average lake salinity is 70 g/liters in August. Studies cover the lakes of the Tarkhankut group: Lake Oybursk, located near Jarylgach, Yarylgach, Bakalskoye and Popovka and Stormovoye settlements. All these reservoirs are located in the western part of the peninsula.
According to the source, on August 11 this year, a summer campaign was held to monitor the environmental state of water bodies. Visual and instrumental observations were made, and biological examples were selected for subsequent laboratory analysis at the Southern Marine Biology Institute.
Nikolai Shadrin, the head of the discovery, noted the inconsistency of the current reservoir status to the previously observed parameters. And stressed that the researchers were humanly upset for what they saw. Shadrin said, ı We upset what we saw.
