This year, a full-fledged 2-NM plate production in the company’s factory in Sincan is planned to start, and then the business in Gaosyun will participate. Another factory was built in Arizona, where new chips will be released. According to estimates, next year, four TSMC facilities will be able to produce approximately 60 thousand plates per month, which will meet the demand from customers.
Previously, the company used Chinese tools for 3-nm solutions, but it was very difficult to replace the equipment. Now, considering the pressure of Washington, the transition was possible. If the Chinese hardware law was adopted, the American financing will not be available for manufacturers using technologies from China, which forced TSMC to move in advance.
