Scythian is a source of syncrotron radiation of the fourth generation and will allow scientists to receive correct data about the structure of various substances. The new station will use the X -Ray analysis method to examine biopolymer crystals at different temperatures.
One of the basic study areas of the station will be the examination of snake poisons containing cardhyiotoxin. These proteins in Cobra and other dangerous snakes can be used in the development of anti -cancer drugs and other drugs.
In addition, the station will examine the light -sensitive proteins of rhodopins. These studies can help to create methods for the treatment of neurological diseases such as epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease and contribute to the development of neuroprostics.
The station project was developed together with scientists of the Moscow Physics and Technical Institute.
