A number of Samsung devices, including laptops and Galaxy smartphones, used technologies protected by four Collision patents, the court heard. These developments are related to increasing the efficiency of wireless networks.
New Hampshire-based Collision filed a lawsuit against Samsung in 2023. The patents were based on research conducted by defense contractor BAE Systems, which was not involved in the case, the lawsuit said.
Samsung denied the claims, saying the patents were invalid and not infringed. However, the jury did not agree with this opinion.
