The Chinese concern BYD set a new record at the Nürburgring: their performance hypercar Yangwang U9 Xtreme was the first among production electric vehicles to complete a lap of the Nordschleife in less than seven minutes.

Official time of presence – 6 minutes 59,157 seconds. The previous leader was Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, which showed the result in 7 minutes 4957 seconds.

The new product is equipped with original electric motors (one for each wheel) with a total power of about 3000 hp.

The system operates from the platform at a voltage of 1200 V, which provides instant response and stable transmission of traction at high speeds.

The Yangwang U9 Xtreme has become not only the most modern car on the Nurburgring, but also one of the most technologically advanced in the world. The recording officially confirmed the presence of the tracks.

However, only 30 copies were produced. Many argue about whether it can be considered a full-fledged production model. [Electrek]
