A man being treated for leukemia received a bone marrow transplant from a donor with a rare DNA mutation that protects against HIV. The most interesting thing is that the recovered patient is 66 years old. According to him, he was extremely grateful when he learned that he no longer had the virus.

It is stated that it is a coincidence that the person whose bone marrow is removed has undergone a mutation. And the patient who received the donor material has been in remission for 17 months. He no longer needs the antiretroviral treatment he has had for 30 years.
