H&M has postponed store openings. The points were supposed to start working on August 1, but the company decided not to open them so as not to create a stir. H&M has previously announced its withdrawal from Russia and the imminent start of the sale of surplus products.
Izvestia reported that Swedish retailer H&M’s store did not open in the Atrium shopping center in Moscow.
The publication clarified that the stores did not open throughout the country. The company decided to postpone the opening date so as not to create a stir. They specified that the stores will start operating in August and will open in stages. The exact opening dates have not been revealed.
H&M stores have been closed since March. The company announced its withdrawal from Russia on July 18. At the same time, RIA Novosti, citing a representative of H&M, reported that the stores would open on August 1 to sell the remaining products, but then, citing the H&M press service, clarified that the opening would be “in August”.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade explained who can claim the Russian assets of H&M. Buyers can be Russian investors or investors from so-called friendly countries. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is ready to support the latter in the acquisition of H&M assets.
