Lawyer Sargis Darbinyan told Interfax about this. The case was initiated at the request of State Duma deputy Mikhail Romanov.

The politician told RBC that he turned to law enforcement after complaints from citizens. Yandex.Food confirmed the fact of starting a criminal case.

The SC opened a criminal case under three articles:

  • Part 1 Art. 137 (violation of privacy);

  • Part 3. Art. 272 (illegal access to computer information);

  • Part 2 Art. 273 (creation, use and distribution of malicious programs).

The plaintiff sent a request to the United Kingdom to recognize the users of the service as victims in this case.

Yandex.Food’s press service confirmed to RB that a criminal case had been opened, noting that the service contacted law enforcement “as soon as the leak became known.” At the moment, the UK is looking for intruders.

On March 1, Yandex.Food announced a leak of phone numbers and customer order data to the network.
