Windows 11 uses visual effects to provide users with a seamless experience. These animations, shadows and transparency require extra processing power and can slow down the system. To improve performance, effects can be turned off and faster give emotion.

Animations such as minimizing and maximizing windows and transparency can be turned off in the settings. Go to Accessibility and select the Visual Effects tab. Click the Animation Effects and/or Transparency toggle to turn these features off.

All visual effects can be controlled from the Control Panel. Go to System and Security and under System click Allow remote access to open System Properties. Go to the Advanced tab and under Performance click the Settings button. Go to Visual Effects and select Optimize for Performance. This disables all animations, blurs, transparency and shadows.
