Lack of funds 35% of respondents explained the inability to understand the nuances of trading. About 25% reported that they are waiting for a “calmer situation” to minimize risk, shares the results of the Kommersant survey.

Another 10% of citizens explained that while they are just developing an investment strategy, 15% of those surveyed opened an account “just in case”.

As of August 1, the total number of investors in brokerage and trust management was 27 million people. The figure for the year increased by 68%. At the same time, there are roughly 9.4 million active investors, down from just under 5 million a year earlier.

Anderida Financial Group forecasts that by the end of the year the number of investors in Russia will approach 30 million.

Experts attribute the phenomenon to the rampant opening of brokerage accounts “in addition” to bank accounts. Analysts believe that additional incentives will be needed for a significant inflow of funds.
