The educational platform for teaching programming LearnHub (formerly LearnUp) will award 20 IT training scholarships to IKEA employees who have been laid off due to the company’s withdrawal from the Russian market. This was announced to RB.RU by LearnHub CEO Daniil Ganopolsky.

“The scholarship is a free passage of the educational trajectory. You can spend on any of our current courses: Python development, Java development, frontend development, QA testing, business and systems analysis,” said Ganopolsky.

The approximate costs of the company will amount to 2.5 million rubles. You can arrive at a budget spot based on the results of a career query and completion of test tasks.

All other IKEA employees will receive free professional advice and a 35% discount on any course.

You can contact the organizers at [email protected].

After completing the course, LearnHub career managers will help graduates write resumes and schedule interviews with their partners (DashaMail, Fun&Sun, MTS Bank are now considering student employment).

According to Ganopolsky, LearnHub was thinking of giving grants not only to IKEA, but previously the company did not have the resources for such a program. “If this case works well, we will be able to attract our B2B partners to co-finance and help more people from different companies”, concluded the CEO of LearnHub.

  • On March 4, IKEA suspended the work of its stores in Russia amid a special operation in Ukraine and due to logistical problems. In mid-June, the company announced that it was looking for buyers for its four plants in Russia, as well as cutting staff and selling excess products.
  • There were 17 stores and eight studios operating under the IKEA brand in Russia. The company employs almost 15 thousand people
  • On August 16, the company began the process of liquidation of the legal entity “Ikea Dom” – it manages a retail network in Russia.
