The streaming platform does not allow downloading all of its movies and series, but most of them can be downloaded via the app for later offline viewing. This feature is available on all three tiers of current Netflix plans, but should be blocked in the plan with adsby Bloomberg.
The information was discovered in a line of code in one of Netflix’s recent iOS updates. The app says it’s “available for download on all plans except Netflix with ads.”
Netflix’s advertising schedule is expected to arrive in early 2023, and we still don’t have much official information about the offer. It’s also hoped that it doesn’t skip ads, hiding video controls as they go.
Additionally, Netflix is currently the only platform that restricts streaming quality based on subscription level, so there is a concern that the ad plan is even lower resolution than the basic plan, which is marketed at sub-HD resolution.
