The cells served as black and white pixels, and a fluorescent protein was used to activate and brighten them. The image the pixels produced was the Doom title screen.
The “pixels” were placed in a special device where the cells were enlarged to provide a 32×48 resolution image. However, the main drawback of this “experimental” technology is the image update time.
According to Ramlan’s calculations, it will take at least 600 years for the cells to complete Doom. The average time it took for a person to complete the game was approximately 5 hours, and the time it took to draw a single square with cells was approximately 8 hours and 20 minutes.
At the same time, there is no clear explanation yet as to why such experiments are needed. The only “acceptable” version is the cult status of the game and the concept that “Doom works on everything.” Doom has been released at various times in refrigerators, e-cigarettes, cars, potatoes, pregnancy tests, toasters, and cash registers.
