Twitter it doesn’t stop at new feature announcements after Elon Musk’s suggestion. The latest is related to integration of subtitles into video. Support account announcement that they are already testing a new option to enable subtitles in videos that offer this feature.
These will be displayed via the CC button which appears above the content and can be deactivated by pressing it again. According to Twitter, subtitles on video will be available on the iOS app and later they will come to Android.
The new implementation came a few days after the integration of the ALT button, which describes images in tweet. Twitter has an idea catch up offering features that are already present on other platforms. The idea that we can activate subtitles not only benefits people with hearing impairments, but also those who do not speak the language of the video or cannot reproduce sound.
Twitter did not detail the steps needed to enable subtitles before posting a tweet. In the case of ALT, the task falls to the user, who must write an image description of less than 1000 characters.
We assume that CC will require the video to contain subtitle file in *. srt or *.sub. Videos with forced subtitles do not have this feature for obvious reasons. It is also unknown if they will offer automatic subtitle option how youtube does it.
Twitter has innovated more in two weeks than it has in ten years. Is Elon Musk to blame?

Elon Musk’s buyout offer triggered a flurry of announcements on Twitter over the past few days. Apparently, the company wants to demonstrate that it is capable of innovation and for this reason, he has already announced a number of novelties, such as the edit button, non-mentionthe ability to view deleted tweets or Facebook statuses
At first sight, Twitter unveiled more features in two weeks than in the last decade. For many, the social network is developing more slowly than other services such as Facebook or TikTok, which plans to solve Elon Musk if your purchase offer is approved.
The tycoon wants to own a social network in order to unleash your potential. If you receive it, the first thing you will do is review the content moderation system and then it will start clearing the platform of annoying spambots. Elon Musk also promised authentication for all “real people” and a simpler verification system.
While Elon has talked about the benefits of taking Twitter private to make the necessary changes, the fact that he dominates the platform is chilling. “Free Speech Absolutist” can destroy the social network, as Mark Zuckerberg did with Facebook..
In the meantime, the board of directors, employees and users can breathe easy. It will be a matter of days before we know if Musk will show his last card and launch a takeover bid.
