High blood pressure can lead to life-threatening conditions as it puts an increased strain on the brain and heart. As a result, kidney disease, stroke, and heart attack can develop.

In one study, scientists also concluded that potatoes cooked in a special way may contribute to high blood pressure. The results of this study were published in the British Medical Journal.

During the study, the experts found how boiled, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, french fries and hypertension were linked. To do this, they analyzed the results of three other scientific papers in which 187,453 people participated. These people have been observed by experts for more than 20 years.

Based on the results of the analysis, it turned out that if a person of any gender eats four or more servings of potatoes per month, the risk of developing hypertension will increase. And this is valid boiled, baked potatoes, french fries, mashed potatoes.

Scientists recommended replacing one serving of potatoes a day with one serving of non-starchy vegetables. This will help reduce the likelihood of hypertension. True, experts cannot explain why potatoes have such an effect on blood pressure.
