Twitter has announced the start of testing of the long-awaited tweet editing feature. But it will be possible to do this only for money – for owners of a paid subscription, which costs $5 per month.
The trial of the tweet editing feature has been launched in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, countries where you can get a paid subscription to Twitter. The feature is tested in specially created test groups.
It is noted that tweets can be edited within half an hour of posting: they will be marked as edited and users will be able to see the edit history.
The former head of Twitter did not support the introduction of the tweet editing function, but the potential new owner, billionaire Elon Musk, on the contrary, indirectly advocated adding such an opportunity: he specifically conducted a survey among his subscribers, the majority of which were in favour.
