Sony Music recording studio leaves Russia. Musician tracks that are recorded on studio-owned labels will be removed from streaming services. This will affect the compositions of more than a thousand performers.

The studio’s departure from Russia means that musical compositions recorded on the studio’s labels will be removed from streaming services. Sony Music owns more than ten labels including Arista Records, Columbia Records, Epic Records, The Orchard, Legacy Recordings.
The residents of the label are Russian musicians Denis Matsuev, Sergey Lazarev, Diana Arbenina, GONE.Fludd and others. Among the foreign artists are Avril Lavigne, Beyoncé, Pink, Shakira, One Direction, Britney Spears.
Sony Music will transfer the business to local top managers, the Russian division will become an independent company from Sony Music. Former director of Sony Music Russia Arina Dmitrieva will manage the organization.
Sony Music stopped releasing new releases in Russia in March 2022.
