The test was called MCED. It has been tested on more than 12,000 healthy people and people with tumors. The test accurately identified the presence of cancer in 38% of patients, including early stages. It gave false positive results in only 1.4% of healthy people.
The authors say MCED could revolutionize the diagnosis of certain tumors, such as colon, pancreatic, and stomach cancers.
