After months of testing, TikTok has finally decided to roll out the dislike button globally. Some may have used this feature in the past, although it was just a test. Today, Friday, the company accepted its main social networks to confirm that now available in all regions and for all users.

Testing of this button began in April last year. At the time, some users reported the appearance of a new button in the comments section. Next to the classic heart symbolizing like, TikTok has also introduced a thumbs down, just like YouTube.. Thus, it is possible to evaluate those messages that have made the greatest contribution.

“I don’t like it,” as we reported back in April, only made it to the comments section. You will not be able to vote for a video using this button, there is already a function for this called “I’m not interested”. Instead, the new proposal allows voting in the comment section to determine content that is not conducive, harmful, or problematic to the TikTok community.

🔔 New feature on the way. Earlier this year, we started testing a new way to identify comments they consider inappropriate or inappropriate. After some testing, we are launching it worldwide. 📲 Read 3 quick facts

How TikTok’s New Dislike Button Works

This is what the dislike button looks like on TikTok

Can people see who didn’t like their comments? The answer is no. The creator won’t be notified when people don’t like their comment, and neither other users nor the owner of the post will be able to see how many comments they’ve received. This function, as TikTok comments in a previous statement, is to maintain a better internal order..

Of course, you can always remove your “dislike” from a comment that you voted unintentionally. Doing so is as easy as hitting the thumbs down button again.

Although we could see the first test of this button earlier this year, TikTok has been working on it for a while now. In fact, it was in March 2020 that social media analyst Matt Navarra first saw this in the app’s code.. Today, it finally arrived, along with promises to create a better community within the app.
