As of September 23, a number of industrial products will not be allowed to be exported outside of Belarus. The restrictions will also affect export processes with member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Belarus banned the export of cars and smartphones

“Establish a temporary ban on the export of goods out of the Republic of Belarus to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in accordance with the list according to the annex, regardless of the country of origin,” says the decree, which is published in the national legal portal of the republic.

The list includes cars, motorcycles, bicycles, medical devices, smartphones, nuclear reactors, and more.

The ban does not apply to products whose Belarusian or Russian origin is confirmed by a certificate, nor to goods with a single export license. The rule will be in force until March of next year.

In April, the Belarusian authorities restricted the export of buckwheat, sugar, salt, butter and other foodstuffs from the country. So this decision is explained by the greater demand for food products in the border areas.
