Bethesda Softworks has added some old The Elder Scrolls and Wolfenstein games to Steam for free as a result of its own launcher being shut down. As of May 11, the publisher’s gaming platform, which was acquired by Microsoft, will no longer be available, but many Bethesda games will be available to purchase and play on Steam, including some older games not yet released on Steam.
These are the following three fairly old classics that are free to play as written; The first two The Elder Scrolls games are the founders of one of the greatest RPG franchises of all time. Wolfenstein: Enemy Zone was slightly less effective, but still an interesting chapter in the long run shooterfranchise
- The Elder Scrolls: Arena (1994)
- The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall (1996)
- Wolfenstein: Enemy Zone (2003)
The American modders publisher has also placed Skyrim Special Edition: Creation Kit and Fallout 4: Creation Kit on Steam. Developer tools are also free.
Most recently, Bethesda Softworks has placed two lesser-known and popular tracks from The Elder Scrolls series on Steam for 6 euros each. Both games deviated so much from the established RPG formula of previous installments that they were seen as failed sequels.
- The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard (1998)
- An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire (1997)
