Coke announced ‘Byte’, a new ‘experimental’ drink that will soon be available for sale in a limited edition in the US. But before that you can only drink in the ‘metaverse‘, buzzword denoting hyper-connected virtual worlds. Are you confused? We’ll keep it very short: it will be available in the Fortnite video game

Coca-Cola has teamed up with PWR to create a new dedicated play space within Fortnite. It’s called Pixel Point and it’s going to be a special island that can be explored in Fortnite Creative mode. Within the area it will be possible to participate in some mini-games, of course all in the theme of Coca-Cola. Find all the details of the initiative via this link.

Concerning the Coca-Cola Byte, the one that will actually be sold, the company’s description is rather vague. Coca-Cola is about a drink with a ‘pixel’ flavor and somehow inspired by video games. Which of course means nothing concrete at all.

The Coca-Cola Byte is part of the project Coca-Cola Creationsa kind of experimental laboratory of the brand dedicated to creating innovative products that combine real drinks with pop culture and technical phenomena – such as the metaverse, video games and virtual reality.

PS if a PR of Coca-Cola Italy were to go through these parts, we take advantage of this space to launch a call: bring the Coca-Cola cherry to Italy too. Thank you. We love you. But seriously. Do it.

Just a few months ago, Coca-Cola introduced another drink: the Coca Cola Starlight, which launched with a virtual event in collaboration with singer Ava Max At the time, the company had hinted that the products of the Coca-Cola Creations line could make their debut in the rest of the world sooner or later, for now that is not the case and not even the Starlight ever in have been marketed in Italy.
