AI has opened the door to so many possibilities, and every time we think we’ve seen (or heard) everything, it surprises us with something new. Such is the case with podcast.ai, a project of sorts that promises to generate a new podcast episode every week using nothing but artificial intelligence. First chapter join the popular podcaster Joe Rogan with Steve Jobsthe most important figure in the history of Apple.
Result? amazing interview created entirely with AI and with surprisingly realistic nuances. 20 minute audio offers exchange between artificial host versions The Joe Rogan Experience and co-founder of the Cupertino firm.
This proposal was born to promote a tool for creating ultra-realistic voices using artificial intelligence, which is owned by Play.ht. Although no details were provided on how this peculiar podcast is created, the developers have mentioned the use of transcripts created with “finely tuned language models”.
“The Steve Jobs episode was trained on his biography and all his records that we could find on the Internet so that the AI could accurately bring him back to life,” they explained.
Joe Rogan and Steve Jobs “hand in hand” in this AI-powered podcast
Listening to the fictional interview, it quickly becomes clear that the most natural results were obtained with the voice of Joe Rogan. His expressions and intonations were very well reproduced, while Steve Jobs’ interventions seem a bit more artificial.
While the co-founder and former Apple CEO’s performances are generally good, they are a bit “weird” at times. This is mostly seen when the answers become too long and incoherent. There are even some abbreviations or pronunciation changes typical of software generated speech.
Surely this corresponds to the availability of material for work on both voices. After all, there are hundreds upon hundreds of hours of current Joe Rogan material on Spotify and YouTube. Whereas in the case of Steve Jobs this is not the case as it has been more than 10 years since his death and audio or video resources for AI training are much older.
If you’re a machine learning enthusiast, want to take a fresh look at your favorite topics, or just want to relive voices from the past, this podcast is for you.
Endless combinations of main characters

The case of podcast.ai is striking, and the first episode with Joe Rogan and Steve Jobs provided the impetus for countless combinations of protagonists. In fact, the public can suggest ideas for the next series by following this link. Some of them are really funny: a conversation between Einstein and Buddha, Elon Musk interviewing Nikola Tesla, or Donald Trump interviewing himself, or Sherlock Holmes interrogating O. J. Simpson. The list is endless and some inputs are significantly more feasible than otherscertainly.
It is clear that we are talking about an experimental project, but with very interesting characteristics. Although this also opens the door to controversy, because it is not known if Play.ht has permission to consider such an initiative.
In the case of Steve Jobs, one could argue that his death is a tribute, but that excuse does not apply to Joe Rogan. In the case of a podcaster This is about deepfake his voiceand this can have rather contradictory consequences.
