The Cambridge-based team believes using AI to screen candidates could eventually lead to uniformity rather than diversity in the workforce, as the technology is geared towards finding the “ideal candidate” imagined by the employer.
This, the researchers say, can lead to people with the appropriate training and experience “beating algorithms” by repeating the behavior the AI is programmed to detect and transferring that attitude into the workplace.
