Samsung phones that have already received the One UI 5.0 update are the first phones on the market to have access to Unicode 15 emojis. SamMobile this Thursday (27). The new collection, which has been revealed recently, includes more than 30 new icons for messaging apps and other services.

Unlike other cases, this time the South Korean giant came to the fore, while making the updated emojis available on their phones only after their competitors. For now, it only supports Unicode 15 through the new version of its Android 13-based interface.

Google last month reported that the collection will be added to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) by December, i.e. after the release of Samsung. Other tech giants like Apple and Microsoft has yet to release timelines.

It is worth noting that smartphones that are currently updated with One UI 5.0 are currently models of smartphones. Galaxy S22 seriesstandard edition, including S22+ and S22 Ultra. Starting in November, more devices will receive the update, such as the Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy S21, S20 and Galaxy Tab S8 lines, among others. Unicode 15 emoji.

New collection

With support for Unicode 15 in One UI 5.0, designed phones will receive several new emojis such as animals (goose, deer, donkey), jellyfish, folding hand fan, ginger, pea shell and two new symbols. There’s even a trembling face, three new color options for the heart, and a “pusher hand”, among other additions.

After getting the updated version of the interface with Android 13, the phones will also win 107 emoji that are part of Unicode 14. Until then, this collection was not supported on Samsung devices.
