iPhone production at Foxconn’s Chinese factory in Zhengzhou could be cut by 30% due to a new factory quarantine in China, two people familiar with the addiction told Reuters.
At a significant capacity, Zhengzhou introduced a quarantine in the city, as a result of which the Foxconn plant, which employs 200,000 people, switched to a closed production cycle.
Workers are prohibited from industrial emissions. They can only move around the closed area covered by dormitories and production facilities.
On October 19, Foxconn banned dining at canteen factories, so workers can only eat in dormitories. This led to a small number of riots, resulting in the loss of many factories by a few people.
