The attack took place this summer while Truss was British Foreign Secretary. Current Prime Minister Boris Johnson, along with Cabinet Secretary Simon Case, knew about the situation but decided to withhold information about the incident.
The publication reports that during the hack, hackers accessed top secret details of Truss negotiations with various world politicians and their allies. Additionally, the smartphone contained data from Truss’ personal correspondence with her close friend Kwasi Kwarteng. The phone criticized Johnson’s as well as discussions of the conflict in Ukraine, including the supply of weapons.
According to the source of the publication, Truss’s hacked phone is now in a safe in a safe place. The government was asked to review the report.
