When buying a hair shampoo, be sure to pay attention to its composition. In particular, the three components discussed below.

  1. parabens. In the presence of these substances, the product will have a rather long shelf life – up to 18-24 months. But if a shampoo with such components is used for a long time, it can adversely affect the condition of the hair and scalp and cause a burning sensation. Also, parabens can make hair oilier.

  2. sodium lauryl sulfate. Shampoos with this component clean the hair and scalp well, help to cope with the increased oil content. But if you overdo it, first the condition of the scalp worsens, and then – in the long run – the hair follicles can be damaged and the hair may begin to fall out.

  1. sodium chloride. Yes, plain cooking salt. With this, you can get rid of some bacteria on the scalp. But because the scalp is so thin, constant exposure to sodium chloride will lead to over-cleansing. As a result, the sebaceous glands will work even more actively, and therefore the hair will be very oily. In addition, ulcers may appear on the scalp, hair may begin to fall out.
