I was waiting for the return of some, I completely forgot about others, and others came as a surprise, sometimes unpleasant.
I’ll tell you below what alerts your iPhone messages if you’re abroad. For example, Apple Maps caused delight, but YouTube ads discouraged.
1. Paid Services and Apple Pay

There are no 3D models in Istanbul on Yandex Maps, in Google they are primitive and do not reflect reality. In many regions, new LCDs and skyscrapers have long been standing, and Google Maps of old slums.
4. Instagram * overgrown with garbage

In place of the tab with likes is now a store. Looks like Russia with two columns of photos. Products in the catalog are shown in accounts that are subscribed to and are close to them in spirit. But there’s also annoying AirPods cases, sneakers, t-shirts, and a list of “general purpose” results.
The “add post” button has moved again, this time slightly to the left. In its place, a page icon with likes and subscriptions was placed. As a result, two of the five tabs on the lower menu have already become useless.
Returned the ability to promote posts for money. What, in the current conditions, is still better for Russian citizens not to do so as not to become a “sponsor of bad things.”

However, advertising returned to another service. There you choke on it.
5. YouTube Ads Force You to Pay

I used the Premium subscription for more than two years and did not know grief.
And since spring, all of Russia has been enjoying free viewing of commercials without advertising. So still not said it’s impossible Google made free access.

I paid myself almost immediately, 100 rubles for two weeks is not a pity.
There is no point in changing the region

By rejecting other countries, I deprive myself of only two essential functions: Apple news and releases by popular artists in Apple Music. Both reasons are insignificant to me compared to favorable access to everything else.
Also, the “built-in VPN from Apple” remains unavailable to me. Private node in iCloud +, but this detection, as in Russia, is associated with the presence of an exception.
It would be ideal to have more. Security keys, public transportation in the Apple card, and drug recognition from the Health app label. All this is already in the company’s home market.
But so far I’m satisfied with the current transformations. Moreover, iOS 16 recently added the persistence of Russian text on photos, videos, and in handwritten Scribble format.
