As highlighted by Washington PostIn the United States, it is illegal to collect data from children under the age of 13 without the consent of the country, but in practice the guideline is not always followed. There are already studies showing that hundreds of the most popular apps among kids on iPhone collect your data, like your location, to send to targeted advertising companies.
More effective than iPhone options, but not free
Apple has settings on the iPhone that prevent your data from being tracked by certain apps, such as Require App Not to Track. But some still find ways to bypass these settings. Do Not Track Kids promises to be more effective by working behind the scenes of iPhone usage to prevent apps from sending the information they collect outside of the phone.
To use the app you need to allow it in the iPhone’s DNS settings in addition to the download. Also, Do Not Track Kids is not free, it costs $5 a month.
