Twitter has released an updated Twitter Blue subscription that now allows you to get a blue verification checkmark.
The subscription costs $7.99 per month and is only available on iOS in the US, Canada, UK and Australia. Checkout Twitter Blue so far accounts are accounts created before November 9th.
This was the most controversial change and was criticized by many users. The console blue checkmark redirected that the account was indeed verified, now it is an additional way to highlight yourself in the feed.
If you meet a blue tick, you can find out how it was received.
Despite this, as expected, after the launch of the subscription, a huge number of fakes appeared on Twitter, which pretended to be infections of people or companies.
Among them are the “verified” accounts of Donald Trump, LeBron James, Nintendo, Valve, Rudolph Giuliani (former mayor of New York), as well as many American athletes.
Twitter has already banned fake Nintendo, Trump, LeBron and Valve. But many others have changed so far. The company said it “aggressively combats impersonation and deception.” [The Verge]
