The Bank of Russia issued coins with the laziest character in domestic animation. The figure of the cartoon character “Antoshka”, who did not want to dig potatoes and play the harmonica, will decorate 7,000 silver coins and 1 million, made from base metals.
A series of Antoshka coins will be put into circulation on November 15, the Bank of Russia said. The coins were included in the “Merry Carousel No. 1” collection of the “Russian (Soviet) Animation” series. The Bank of Russia reminded that all issued coins are legal tender throughout Russia.
In total, more than 1 million commemorative coins will be issued. 850 thousand copies will be made with a nominal value of 25 rubles of non-precious metals, another 150 thousand pieces with the same denomination and from the same metals, but with a color coating. 7 thousand coins with a face value of 3 rubles will be silver.
The hero of the cartoon “Antoshka” is known for his penchant for laziness and ridicule. According to the plot of the cartoon, he refused to dig potatoes and play the harmonica for the guys. For inappropriate behavior, the guys taught Antoshka a lesson by putting a frog on his plate during dinner.
